300: The Ancient Sparta and Battle of Thermopylae

The historic battle of King Leonidas with the force of 300 men to help him fight for a cause against the Persian forces was held in the setting of 480 B.C in this movie. This is one of the most striking movies on ancient history.

The 300 Spartans

The film shows the harshness of the battle between the Spartans and Persians, the latter with an ambitious desire to conquer the globe and to crush every resistant force that gets in their way. The plot shows the intense commitment of King Leonidas to fight for the freedom of his people. Moreover, the good leadership King Leonidas showed in leading his army throughout the battle. The Spartans fight for their liberation against the Persian power.

Leonidas values the freedom of his land and his people and is willing to fight for them to the last breathe of his life. Although the Spartans know they could not stand a chance against the thousands of Persian soldiers, they have shown a great courage in an ardent battle and a dedication to fight with wit and strength. This movie also shows great strategies that allowed 300 men to defeat hundreds of thousands of soldiers in severe clashes and outwit Xerxes’ Immortals. Standing their ground in a noble battle, the fearless 300 soldiers inspired all of Greece to resist Persian conquerors, giving a new concept of Hellenic unity.
