Cowboys and Aliens – Mocking or Serious?

Looking at the title of the movie, I could hardly imagine what it may be about, and what may be in common for aliens and cowboys. Therefore, I started the Internet search and managed to find some information about the setting of the movie, the starring crew, and the team of creators. But even knowing that the director of Cowboys & Aliens is Jon Favreau, and that the movie is based on the comic book written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, I cannot figure out what it will be – a comedy or an action-horror-mystics movie about the incredible struggle between the humanity and the fierce creatures coming from space.

Until now little is known about the synopsis of the movie, only the setting in which the action will take place. A loner (starring Daniel Craig) not remembering who he is and where he comes from finds himself in Arizona, in 1873. He comes to the nearby town of Absolution and finds he is not welcome there, as all population lives in terror under the reign of Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford). However, the outbreak of the space invasion makes people in the Old West understand that there are some things much more terrifying that the rule of a tough and cruel mentor, and unifies everyone in the fight. In other words, I am looking forward to the movie.
